& ANALYSIS CHART
This assignment is designed for 9th-10th grades, but can be adapted for 11th-12th grades as well.
Students use previous ideas from a brainstorming activity to select and analyze quotes for an analytical essay.
Students are required to introduce the arguments for each of their body paragraphs, record their selected quote (complete with speaker and page number), paraphrase each quote into their own words, and explain how each quote supports the argument being addressed in that body paragraph.
This graphic organizer allows students to compile their thoughts and develop text-specific arguments for their analytical essays.
