COLLAGE & FOUND POEM
This project is designed as a pre-assessment for 9th-10th grades, but can be adapted for 11th-12th grades.
For this assignment, students must create a collage and a found poem, both of which represent themselves, their experiences, and their outlook on life.
Students are also required to write an explanation of their images and poetry choices, describing how these choices represent aspects of their lives and personalities.
This assignment is great for the beginning of the year as a "get-to-know-you" activity, but can also be useful as a supplement to a novel, narrative writing, or poetry unit.
